In biotechnological research on skin aging, the treatment of muscle contractions, facial wrinkles, and nerve changes, Korean researchers at Seoul University have succeeded in isolating a novel peptide of Botulinum toxin A that, through a transdermal transport system, reaches deep skin layers without injections and naturally relaxes the facial muscles, thereby contributing to long-lasting skin rejuvenation.
Previous applications of Botulinum toxin A have been reserved for doctors because treatment errors can lead to serious side effects and difficult-to-correct muscle paralysis.
In a worldwide patent, a special peptide from Botulinum A was coupled with a membrane protein that is no longer toxic to nerves but has a relaxing effect on the facial muscles.
